It proved a good weekend for St Galls handballers who entered the Golden Gloves competition. We had a significant number of juvenile players involved and they have gained great experience from playing players from across Ireland. However our best player of the weekend was Jordan O’Neill. Jordan had entered the U19 competition however he was advised on Friday that he had been transferred into the men’s competition. After two days of handball Jordan won his way through to his group final where he faced a much fancied Sean Digney from Down. After a pulsating final where both players pushed each other to their limits Sean’s experience carried him through and Jordan had to settle for the runners up trophy which was presented by County Secretary Seamus Graham.
