AS regular readers will know, it’s not often that I make the right choice. Take last week’s prediction that Antrim would secure progression to the Leinster Championship quarter-finals by beating Westmeath on Sunday – I was wrong by the small matter of 17 points.

Well done to our U10 girls footballers for todays displays, doesn’t do them justice for how good they done and how much they entertained all the spectators who came to Milltown for a great day of Gaelic culture that was on display. After not winning the first match we went on to win against, na Fianna from Dublin, Fingallians from Dublin, we drew with Naomh Brid and won against Lamh Dhearg. That got us into the semi-finals where we played Fingallians again and were victorious again. The amount we scored doesn’t matter to us, what is more pleasing is the fact that we didn’t concede a single score. We then faced Moneyglass in the final and according to all ,including the Dublin teams,it was one of the most fiercely competitive matches they have witnessed at this age group!! This is because we train like we want to play and we play to improve and to show how good all our panel are. Unfortunately Moneyglass pipped us by a single point in the final and congratulations to them, they are a great team. However like we tell our players”the other team won,but nobody lost”.We had 14 players today and everyone played their part brilliantly right throughout the panel but special mention must go to our captain and MVP, Aobh Dunn who was magnificent throughout the blitz. So a great day all round and back to training this week girls,Positive,Forward moving football, never stand still!,well done from all the Management team,N.G.A
Thanks also to everyone that helped to make such a successful day at Milltown 🙂

Match report from U12 boys football V Ardoyne.Another great win tonight at Milltown for our footballers, after last weeks blip against St Brigids we got back to winning ways although we were without our second choice keeper,Sean Stewart. In wet conditions our troops played great supportive, positive go forward football led by Patsy “The Bomber”Mallon who bagged 2-2 after his first league start. All our guys got good game time and when we were attacking we were all forwards and when defending we were all backs. We blocked well, we tackled well, we ran well and we shot well but most impressive was our discipline! While the opposition were losing their cool,we kept ours,so once again well done to our troops. Thanks M,O,K,P
